Lisie Hospital was established by Late Cardinal Joseph Parecattil on 10th January 1956 solely to render medical services for philanthropic purposes, especially in a period when hospitals and dispensaries were rare establishments and the hospitals of those days could not cater to the increasing needs of the sick due to paucity of funds and facilities.
Late Cardinal Antony Padiyara established a Charitable Trust and registered the same in 1990 and handed over the management of the hospital to this Trust. In the course of time, the hospital grew into further heights with 1000 beds and with modern departments equipped with sophisticated medical machinery of modern times. |
